He has been the lead engineer in charge of embedded system software development for Phocus Systems since 1995. Joel holds a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design and Creative Writing from Western Washington University. He has created works in many formats, including paint, pen and ink, charcoal, photograph, pencil, plaster, wire, concept art and has become adept at Freehand, the Gimp and both the Corel and Adobe graphics suites. He has written plays, short stories, screenplays and a novel, and is a competent editor.

Rasheed has built and maintained computers since 1998. After teaching computer hardware at Pierce College, he started and ran Solid PC, where he provided reasonable prices for custom built personal computers.
